The Child Nutrition Department is excited to announce another “Spootacular Month”! The month of October has been busy for the Child Nutrition Department! We celebrated National School Lunch Week (October 12-16th), introduced two new menu items – Chicken Philly and Chicken Parmesan with homemade marinara, and we provided a taste testing for a new recipe – Ranch Bacon Pasta (October 9th) at both schools as a part of the Chef Ann Culinary challenge. Please join us November 13th for our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Dinner will be sold at $9.00 a plate to include your choice of turkey, cornbread dressing with gravy, green beans or collard greens, sweet potato souffle, apple crisp, cranberry sauce, a roll, a slice of cake, and or tea for paying adults only. More information to RSVP a plate is coming soon.

It’s time to satisfy your sweet tooth and support our school on our biggest fundraiser of the year! W.O. Lance Elementary is kicking off our annual Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser. Dates: October 5 – October 22. Pickup Date: October 27th at W.O. Lance Elementary School. 👑 Top Sellers & Royal Recognition:Prince & Princess: The top boy and girl seller in each grade level will be crowned Prince and Princess! The overall top sellers for the entire school will be named W.O. Lance King & Queen! There will be a special crowning ceremony 🎉. Get those orders in and help your student take home the crown! 👑🍩

🎀 BREAST CANCER LAPS FOR A CURE! 🎀
Join Us for a Breast Cancer Charity Walk!
Each grade level will walk laps in support of breast cancer awareness and the search for a cure. This special event will take place during each grade level’s scheduled P.E. time.

We invite parents and guardians to join their child’s class during this fun and meaningful event!

📅 When: Friday, October 23rd
⏰ Time: During each grade level’s scheduled P.E. time
📍 Place: Playground at W.O. Lance Elementary School

To participate, your name must be listed as the parent or guardian in our student information system.

Please bring a donation of $2.00 or more to help support breast cancer awareness efforts. Donations should be brought at the time of the walk.

Visitors are encouraged to join us in wearing pink to show support for the fight against breast cancer.

Students may wear pink or breast cancer awareness shirts, while staying within the school’s casual dress code.

Lanett City Schools Lanett City Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 5:30 P.M. Location: Lanett City Schools Central Office 105 North Lanier Ave, Lanett, AL 36863 The meetings are open to the public.

The Lanett Board of Education has appointed Mr. David Gagnon to fill the District IV vacancy, where he will serve the remainder of the current term.

Mr. Gagnon was officially sworn in during last evening’s Lanett City Council meeting.

We welcome Mr. Gagnon to the Lanett City Schools Board of Education and look forward to his service and commitment to our students, families, and community!
