Pre-K students will be dismissed at 10:45 a.m. K-6 students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
Report Card Pick-up and Parent Conference Day is from 1-3 p.m.
Bus Riders will be Dismissed at 11:20 a.m. and Car Riders and Walkers at 11:30 a.m.
We are asking all parents to please pick up your child’s report card
Parents will be notified by teachers if they need to schedule an in-depth conference

Urgent: All Lanett City Schools will transition to an E-Learning Day!
Please be advised that power has not yet been restored at W.O. Lance Elementary. Due to this ongoing outage and the impact on our operations, all Lanett City Schools campuses will be closed to students today, March 12, 2026. Students will complete their assignments electronically in Schoology. Students in grades PK-1 will receive their make-up work later this week. Staff should report to their campus and more information will be provided by your principal.
Ice cream Friday is coming! Don’t forget to send money with your child on 3/13! 🍦🍫

Please be advised that Tutoring has been canceled for Tuesday, March 17th.

Read Across America Week will be celebrated on March 2-6, 2026 at W. O. Lance Elementary School.
Each day of the week we have different activities planned as we promote reading. We encourage your child to participate on dress-up days as we enjoy character parades through the school and relax while we read entertaining books!


District and school administrators participate in monthly leadership training and development sessions designed to strengthen leadership capacity, build coherence across schools, and ensure high levels of learning for all students. Through ongoing collaboration, reflection, and professional growth, our leaders remain focused on implementing best practices and driving positive outcomes throughout the district.









As the first leader of Tuskegee Institute right here in Alabama, his focus on vocational training and self-reliance continues to influence how we approach education today. He didn’t just manage the school; he built it from the ground up—literally. Booker T. Washington also partnered with Julius Rosenwald to construct over 5,000 schools, shops, and teacher homes for African American children across the south.
