My name is Janice Storey speech therapist here at W.O. Lance Elementary. This is my 12th year teaching in the Alabama Public Schools. I have worked in various cities and counties within AL. Presently I work with Pre-k to 12th grade students with varying speech and communication difficulties. The reason I pursued a degree in speech pathology is because I had a nephew that had a speech impairment due to a seizure disorder. I was able to witness firsthand the difference the speech therapist made in his life and how it aided him in becoming an effective communicator. That was when I decided that I wanted to help others the same way this therapist helped my nephew. I believe that “Speech truly gives voice to the music of your heart!” I encourage my students that each of them have a voice and what they have to say matters.
I enjoy spending time with my family. I am very involved in my church and community. I also love to read, write, and travel when I have the opportunity.
