School Mission Statement

Our mission at W.O. Lance Elementary School is to foster lifelong learning, enhancing character development within each child as we prepare him or her for the future. Together, teachers, parents, and the community can accomplish this in a nurturing and positive environment in which each child is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.

Purpose of the Library

The purpose of the W.O. Lance Elementary Library is to support the curriculum and the school's mission through access to quality literature and other educational materials in both print and digital format, appropriate programming, and information literacy.

Library Hours

The library is open from 7:45-3:45 Monday, Wednesday,Thursday and 7:45-3:30 Friday. Students are welcome to come by and use the library at any time during the day. You can check out books, use the computers or ask Mrs. Crance questions. In addition, the library is open to immediate family from 3:00-3:45 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Stop by and use the libraries resources or discuss what we are working on with your child! 

How long and how many?

Kindergarten through 3rd grade can check out one book and 3rd - 6th grade can check out two books at a time and can keep books up to two weeks. Students are allowed to renew books twice after the first checkout as long as they bring the book by the library prior to the due date. Students with overdue books will not be allowed to checkout books until the late books are returned.

If a student loses or damages a book, he/she will be charged to replace the book. The cost for the student will be the total cost for the library to replace the book at the time of payment. Students will not be able to checkout books until this payment is made.
